Pedodontics observes the development of an entire dentition from the birth of a child to the end of adolescence, and attend to their treatment.
Deciduous and Permanent Teeth Fillings
It is very important to apply fillings by cleaning both caries in the deciduous teeth and caries present in the permanent teeth. Although the fillings on deciduous teeth are considered unnecessary by some parents as they will fall out in the future, they are quite wrong. In addition to disrupting oral hygiene, caries on deciduous teeth lead to the decay of other teeth and endangers overall health. Similarly, in case of caries on permanent teeth, immediate intervention is significant for maintaining oral and overall health.
Fissure Sealant
Deep pits and grooves on the surfaces of the teeth are called fissures. Deep fissures in some teeth make it difficult to remove bacteria from that area with brush hair and cause the formation of caries. These grooves are closed with fluid-consistency fillers called fissure sealants to shallow these deep fissures.
Space Maintainers
If the deciduous teeth have to be pulled out prematurely, space maintainers are used to protect the dental extraction space so that the permanent tooth that will come out from under the deciduous tooth lasts properly and the other teeth do not slide into this cavity. Space maintainers can be of two types: fixed and removable.
